Northrop Grumman Air Dominance Division is seeking a Director of Programs to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to lead its Military Aircraft programs. This position will have direct profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for a broad portfolio of programs and will partner closely with strategy and growth to capture follow-on and new business opportunities aligned with the division's strategy. This position will be based in Clearfield, Utah.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set standards and behaviors for an operating unit with geographically diverse program execution.

  • Drive program performance across operating unit. Empower and lead program managers to successfully manage cost, schedule, safety and quality performance for fixed price and cost type contracts and Intercompany Work Orders (IWOs).

  • Drive technical execution and accountability across the operating unit with high standards of adherence to earned value management principles, including robust risk and opportunity management.

  • Provide a collaborative and inclusive work environment where teams can thrive in meeting overall performance goals and shared success.

  • Lead program strategy development that integrates with Air Dominance Division and the Aerostructures programs. This includes strategies to capture follow-on and new business opportunities within the target market.

  • Develops and participates in the annual long-range strategic planning process (LRSP).

  • Oversee and approve competitive proposal preparation to create value. Ensure proposals align with the business and growth strategy and provide a base for successful negotiations and program performance.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to program managers in the development of program plans and critical milestones. Drive accountability to meet master program plans and schedules.

  • Serves as a business unit representative to customers, ensuring there is an understanding of core capabilities and provides customers with creative business and technical solutions for their requirements.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the program team that includes coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating process improvement and corrective actions when necessary.

  • Oversee program planning and execution through applicable phases including concept, exploration, engineering development, advanced development, production, sustainment, and retirement to continuously drive results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below:

  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.

  • 3 years in program or project leadership roles.

  • Experience managing programs or portfolio of programs more than $100M sales annually.

  • Experience with Firm Fixed Price, CPFF and IWO contracts.

  • Experience working with Military Prime and DoD customers and their partners.

  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition and budgeting process.

  • Knowledge of business systems, including Earned Value Management, Risk and Opportunity Management, and contract management.

  • Demonstrated experience leading managers and teams engaged in executing multiple contracts and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively.

  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. Government Secret Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance last investigated within 6 years or enrolled in continuous evaluation.

  • Master's degree and advanced training in program management.

  • Experience working with high-ranking military officials, prime contractor, and commercial executives.

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,800.00 - $290,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
