Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary duty of the Sales Associate is to provide excellent customer service to all customers entering our store. This includes: welcoming customers, guiding them through our products, answering questions and making sure guests have a pleasant experience. Providing great customer experience aides in customer retention and increasing store revenue.
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Hours: Saturday 10m to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm
Location: Petals & Twigs in New Lenox, IL
REPORTS TO: Petals & Twigs Manager
NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT: Net 6- Petals & Twigs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Welcomes customers into store.
  • Be able to provide some history of Trinity Services and some of our programs.
  • Associate must be able to perform all routing shop functions including, opening the store for business, perform all cash register operations (opening, sales and closing), closing the store at the end of the business day.
  • Staying knowledgeable about the products we sell
  • Make sure displays are appealing to our guests and restock items after purchases.
  • Clean and organize items on display. Sweep or mop floors when needed.
  • Assist in tracking inventory and ordering of store goods and supplies.
  • Promote special sales and offers.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Be comfortable interacting with customers and spending long periods walking around
  • Be able to interact professionally with customers and co-workers
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Be able to operate electronic Cash Register
  • Basic math skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Be able to push 75 pounds
  • Regularly required to remain in stationery position, often standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Be able to stoop and kneel. Also, may need to bend, reach, lift and carry.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays, when necessary
  • Must be able to work independently.
