Responsible for developing and executing test plans, procedures, and protocols for complex electromechanical systems such as robotic arms and unmanned ground vehicles. Develops requirements, selects test equipment, and provides ongoing support and improvements in the course of product development, production and/or testing.

Conducts testing of robotic machines, utilizing their embedded control software systems. Able to troubleshoot devices that span the mechanical, electrical, and control system domains, typical of robotic systems. Has the ability to lead robot testing projects of moderate to high complexity and to work in a highly-collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment. 

Assists in fabrication, troubleshooting, testing and warranty service of prototypes, working in close collaboration with the sales, quality, manufacturing, service personnel, and engineering groups.  

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with instrumentation & tools, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and force and acceleration sensors required for testing, debugging, and integration of electromechanical systems.
  • Experience creating test plans/procedures/protocols
  • Experience in the creation of technical documentation
  • Communicates with technicians, engineers, vendors, customers
  • Ability to manage assigned time-based projects and deliver within scope requirements
  • Processing manufacturing data and generating test reports
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Essential Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Broad understanding of electromechanical systems
  • Good troubleshooting and hands-on skills (electro-mechanical assembly, etc.)
  • Familiarity with shop tools (wrenches, drivers, cutting tools, etc.)
  • Familiarity with instrumentation & tools required for test, debug, and integration of electro-mechanical systems (oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.)
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and reporting data through technical documentation (Excel)
  • Able to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office). With a focus on Microsoft Excel

Desired Skills

  • Data analysis (Excel)
  • Ability to use shop tools
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Familiar with industry test protocols such as MIL-STD 810 and 461

    BS, or MS Computer, Software, Robotics, or Mechanical Engineering.
