Qualifications

  1. Degree in Therapeutic Recreation with Activity Director certification from an accredited, state-approved program, or at least one year of dementia/memory care programming experience.
  2. Passion for working with older adults, including individuals with physical, cognitive, or psychological challenges.
  3. Knowledge of aging and memory loss, or willingness to complete specialized memory care training.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  5. Patient, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
  6. Creative, energetic, and motivated to develop engaging life enrichment programs.
  7. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  8. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook.
  9. Must be at least 18 years of age.


Responsibilities: 

  1. Plan, coordinate, and lead meaningful group, individual, and one-on-one activities based on individualized resident care plans.
  2. Develop and maintain activity calendars, care plans, and measurable goals in collaboration with the Housing Coordinator.
  3. Observe, document, and communicate changes in resident behaviors to support timely care plan updates and resident safety.
  4. Mentor, train, and provide ongoing support to Life Enrichment staff and volunteers under the direction of the Housing Coordinator.
  5. Collaborate with nursing and other departments to provide engaging, person-centered programming and enhance residents' quality of life.
  6. Build positive relationships with residents and families by encouraging participation, providing updates, and incorporating family input into individualized programming.
  7. Implement activity interventions and adaptations that promote each resident's highest level of independence and well-being.
  8. Attend care conferences, evening, weekend, and holiday events as needed.
  9. Support Country Manor's mission, vision, values, and Hometown Culture.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
