Your work environment at EXP

You will be part of a collaborative geotechnical and infrastructure team, working closely with engineers, project managers, and field staff. This role offers exposure to construction sites, materials testing, and engineering problem-solving in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Perform field investigations and support geotechnical assessments for infrastructure and construction projects
  • Conduct subgrade evaluations for roads, buildings, and related infrastructure
  • Carry out field testing, including:
    • Soil compaction testing using nuclear density gauges

    • Concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder preparation)
  • Ensure all testing procedures comply with applicable standards (CCIL, CSA, ASTM, and project specifications) [Geotechnic
  • Record and document field data, test results, and observations accurately and consistently [Geotechnic
  • Communicate site conditions and test results to engineers and project teams
  • Support engineers in interpreting field data and preparing technical documentation and reports
  • Assist with review of construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper handling and calibration [Geotechnic
  • Follow all health and safety protocols on-site and contribute to a safety-first work culture
  • Support coordination between field and office teams to meet project timelines

What your experience looks like

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
  • Eligibility for EIT registration (or actively pursuing)
  • Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and field-based work
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and basic geotechnical concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized testing procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
