JOB TITLE:
Program Coordinator, Senior - Science Institute
JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinate and manage the operational, financial, and personnel functions of the Science Initiative Wyoming Research Scholars (WRSP) undergraduate research program and the Science Initiative research and service centers under the direct supervision of the Science Institute Executive Business Manager and indirect supervision of the individual program and center directors or managers. Duties will include managing database and recordkeeping of project information for student awards; onboarding and oversight of hourly non-benefited undergraduate researchers; making purchases and travel arrangements for students and faculty; managing application processes and requests for proposals; and coordinating and managing research symposia and student events. This is a service-oriented position that involves working directly with students and faculty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate and manage the administrative, financial, and personnel activities of designated large and/or complex program(s).
  • Implement program goals and objectives and revise as necessary; develop and enact comprehensive plans for recordkeeping and process improvement.
  • Coordinate programming with other university departments to assure smooth delivery of services.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to faculty, staff and students.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Participate in planning, maintenance and achievement of departmental goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 3 years work-related experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite functions and tools (ex. mail merge, basic pivot tables, v/xlookup, teams/sharepoint forms)
  • Experience researching, implementing, and seeking out training and resources to gain proficiency with new systems and software
  • Experience managing a project with multiple components
  • Experience doing purchasing and reconciling expenses/expense reports
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, students, and community and industry partners
  • Excellent recordkeeping and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing entry-level, hourly, and/or student employees
