Job Summary
The Work Study Student will support the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction as an Office Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Employment is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Answers phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Assists with filing, scanning, copying, and organizing departmental records.
  • Provides general clerical and administrative support
  • Assists with data entry and maintaining electronic files.
  • Helps prepare materials for meetings, events, and student activities.
  • Monitors and replenishes office supplies
  • Delivers documents throughout campus as needed
  • Maintains confidentiality of student and departmental information

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
  • Previous office or customer service experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Interest in engineering, construction, business, or higher education administration.

Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
