Facility: Azure Shores Rehabilitation
Position: Activity Assistant
Location: Miami, FL
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour

Join Our Team

Azure Shores Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to support our Activities Department. In this role, you will help create meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and facility policies. You’ll work closely with the Activity Director to enhance residents’ quality of life through recreational and social programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, setting up, and facilitating daily activities as directed by the Activity Director

  • Escort residents to and from activity areas and provide guidance during participation

  • Supervise and assist residents during scheduled activities

  • Conduct routine visits with in-room residents, offering companionship and assisting with crafts, letters, and personal requests

  • Observe and document resident attendance, mood, behavior, and level of engagement

  • Gather activity preferences by communicating with residents and family members

  • Encourage resident and family involvement in activity planning

  • Coordinate with other departments to support activity programming

  • Assist residents with scheduling appointments as needed

  • Maintain accountability and responsibility for assigned duties

Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Previous nursing home or long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make independent decisions when needed

  • Knowledge of activity programming regulations in healthcare settings is a plus
