Electrical Engineers at Forj Medical play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and supporting embedded medical device systems throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production. Using Forj Medical standard operating procedures, engineering best practices, and technical expertise, they collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative, reliable, and high-quality medical technologies.
The Electrical Engineer II applies knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, embedded and microcontroller-based systems, sensor interfaces, A/D conversion, filtering, and PCB schematic design to support the development of Class II and Class III medical devices. This position contributes to projects of moderate complexity and may be responsible for significant portions of larger development efforts, requiring strong technical problem-solving skills, creativity, and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Digital and/or analog electronic design and development of embedded systems
- Component and/or system-level electronic design and test
- Printed circuit board development, build, and test
- Devise, test, and debug system-level architecture for new products of moderate and significant technical complexity
- Design and develop sensor interfaces including A/D conversion, filtering, etc.
- Develop and perform hardware verification testing
- Participation in product requirements definition, analysis, project planning, and design reviews
- Write design specifications
- Assist with agency compliance testing in accordance with EMC and IEC 60601-1 standards
- Conduct analysis, review and evaluation of design alternatives
- Prepare and review design documentation and test procedures
- Assist in definition, analysis and allocation of requirements
- Support test activities
- May provide mentorship of less-experienced engineers
- May provide task estimates in support of projects
- Support process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics
- Minimum 3-6 years experience with B.S.; or 0-3 years experience with an M.S.
- Experience with digital and analog electronic device development
- Proficient at quickly solving medium-complexity electrical engineering problems
- Experience taking a device from design to production
- Detailed documentation skills
- Medical Device experience preferred but not required

The salary range for this position is outlined below under "Job Details" and is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws.
