Position Summary
Pathway Group is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer for a precision machining manufacturer in Chino, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of CNC programming and machining experience, with strong proficiency in Mastercam. This individual will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs, supporting machine setups, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring high-quality production. Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC lathe programs using Mastercam.
  • Develop efficient machining strategies to improve cycle times and maximize tool life.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
  • Select tooling, establish cutting parameters, and determine optimal feeds and speeds.
  • Support and verify machine setups, tool offsets, fixtures, and first article inspections.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues to ensure efficient production.
  • Make program revisions and process improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Operate CNC lathes as needed to verify program accuracy.
  • Ensure all programs meet quality, safety, and production requirements.
  • Maintain organized program documentation and revision control.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of CNC programming and machining experience.
  • Advanced proficiency using Mastercam for CNC lathe programming.
  • Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls.
  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience supporting machine setups and troubleshooting machining processes.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience programming multi-axis CNC lathes.
  • Aerospace or high-precision machining experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
