Job Summary
The Google Cloud DevOps / SRE Engineer will be responsible for building, deploying, securing, and supporting highly available cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The role focuses on reliability engineering, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deep system-level troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage Google Cloud core services including Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
  • Configure and manage networking components such as VPC peering, Shared VPCs, firewall rules, load balancers, DNS, and VPN tunnels.
  • Implement and troubleshoot cloud security configurations including IAM roles, service accounts, Workload Identity Federation, and least-privilege access.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, and dependency handling.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (Declarative and Scripted) and GitHub Actions.
  • Implement advanced deployment strategies including Canary and Blue/Green deployments using Docker and Helm.
  • Perform deep Linux system administration and troubleshooting (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), including kernel tuning, systemd, storage, and LVM.
  • Diagnose and resolve CPU, memory, disk I/O, and boot-level issues through log analysis and system debugging.
  • Support production environments with a focus on stability, scalability, and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Expertise in GKE, Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
  • Advanced Linux administration experience (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) - must have.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for system performance and reliability issues.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes deployments.
  • Programming experience in Python, Go (Golang), or Java - must have.
