Job description

A CNC programmer's job is to create and refine the instructions that direct CNC machines to cut and shape raw materials into finished parts. Key duties include interpreting blueprints, writing and testing machine code, and adjusting settings like speed and feed rates to ensure high-quality production. They are responsible for troubleshooting issues and making sure every component meets exact specifications. ( First Shift)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Programming: Develop and write code for CNC machines based on technical drawings and design models.
  • Machine setup: Determine the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates for each program.
  • Testing and optimization: Run and test programs, then fine-tune them for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix problems that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Modification: Update and modify existing programs for different machines or production runs.
  • Quality assurance: Ensure the finished parts meet precise specifications and maintain quality standards.

Minimum requirements:

  • Blueprint reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Mastercam software proficiency: Experience using CNC programming software is essential.
  • Machining knowledge: A strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and machine speeds/feed rates.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with CNC machines, often gained from working as a machine operator.
