If you are passionate about manufacturing, quality, and making an impact in a high-performance environment, we encourage you to apply. Don’t settle for ordinary when extraordinary is within reach.

About the Role

The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs using PC-DMIS to support our low-volume, high-mix production environment. This role goes beyond running existing programs, it requires building new inspection programs from blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T requirements, then optimizing them for accuracy and cycle time. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in PC-DMIS programming, comfortable working from complex engineering drawings, and able to translate part tolerances into efficient, repeatable inspection routines.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new CMM inspection programs in PC-DMIS from blueprints, CAD models, and engineering specifications
  • Program and optimize inspection routines for precision-machined CNC components across a wide variety of low-volume, high-mix parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts to define accurate inspection strategies
  • Validate and debug new and existing PC-DMIS programs to ensure measurement accuracy and repeatability
  • Perform first-article inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections as required
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to Quality and Production teams
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and program documentation in compliance with AS9100D/ISO 9001 requirements
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment
  • Train and support CMM Technicians on running and adapting programs
  • Collaborate with CNC machinists, engineers, and programmers to troubleshoot fit, form, and function issues
  • Continuously improve inspection processes to reduce cycle time without compromising accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

 What You Bring

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Metrology, or Manufacturing Technology (or equivalent hands on experience)
  • Advanced proficiency in PC-DMIS programming required
  • Experience within aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience programming inspections for complex machined components
  • Knowledge of manual inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and work with CAD models
  • Experience with Romer Arm or other portable measurement equipment
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain compliance with ITAR requirements (U.S. Person status required)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods (desk, driving, and/or travel) in an office/industrial environment
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform job functions
  • Ability to lift 25 to 35 pounds
  • May be exposed to moving machinery, sharp metal chips, coolants, industrial chemicals, noise, and heavy materials
  • Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone

 Why United CNC

  • Competitive pay reflecting real precision skills
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid holidays and vacation
  • Flexible start time (6:00 AM – 8:00 AM)
