Job description

CMM Programmer

- $32-$35 p/h + shift premium

- Full-Time / direct hire

- 2nd or 3rd shift available

Position Overview

A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to support quality inspection and dimensional verification activities. This role is responsible for creating inspection programs, performing first article and production inspections, and supporting manufacturing through accurate measurement and quality analysis.

The ideal candidate has experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS or Calypso and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CMM programs to support first article inspections and ongoing production requirements.
  • Perform dimensional inspections on production parts and tooling using coordinate measuring machines and vision inspection systems.
  • Verify parts meet engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot CMM programming and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with setup, validation, and optimization of inspection routines.
  • Support manufacturing personnel by providing guidance on CMM operation and inspection methods.
  • Train and mentor CMM operators on programming, inspection techniques, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve inspection efficiency and measurement accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of dimensional inspection experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience programming coordinate measuring machines using PC-DMIS or Calypso.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with vision inspection systems and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot CMM equipment and resolve programming issues.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
