Plano, TX
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of AOI programming experience in a PCB/SMT manufacturing environment.
  • Experience programming and optimizing AOI systems; familiarity with Omron VT-S platforms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SMT manufacturing processes, solder defect identification, and electronic component technologies, including 01005, BGA, QFN, and through-hole components.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, Gerber files, CAD data, and component datasheets.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards and electronic assembly quality requirements.
  • Proficient with AOI inspection software and general computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Close visual acuity required for detailed PCB and component inspection.
  • IPC-A-610 certification, SPI programming experience, MES/QMS experience, and ITAR/EAR manufacturing exposure are preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Create, validate, and maintain AOI inspection programs using CAD data, Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot AOI programs to maximize defect detection while minimizing false calls.
  • Configure and fine-tune 2D and 3D inspection parameters, component libraries, inspection windows, and solder joint tolerances.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), first article inspections, and new assembly program development.
  • Operate AOI equipment to inspect PCB assemblies before and after reflow in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Analyze inspection results, identify defects, and perform false-call reduction activities.
  • Monitor inspection performance and maintain consistent quality standards across multiple product lines.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, SMT leads, and production teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain AOI program libraries, version control records, and inspection documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on AOI equipment and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain inspection records, defect logs, program revisions, and rework documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and manufacturing procedures while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Process manufacturing travelers and inspection documentation throughout production.
