Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer
Job Type: Non- Exempt
Report to: Drafting Manager
Summary:
The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for working on all stages of our production cycles, from research and design to manufacturing, installation, and evaluation. They will prepare detailed working diagrams of products and mechanical devices, including dimensions, assembly and fastening methods according to customer specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Researching and analyzing data such as customer design proposals, and specifications to determine feasibility of design or application
  2. Create 3D designs according to quote/proposal including skeletal modeling
  3. Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication/machining techniques, mechanical assembly, and blue-print reading/inspection are required job skills
  4. Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing solutions to resolve them
  5. Ability to weigh risks and make decisions
  6. Creating plans and designs using AutoCAD technology
  7. Interact with other departments to determine potential problems and provide feasible solutions
  8. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and OSHA regulations
  9. All other duties assigned

Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
2 years minimum in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of Office applications including excel and word
  • Some working knowledge of AutoCAD, or relative engineering software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking

Ability to:
  • Work independently with little direction
  • Work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Must be able to establish good working relationship with many individuals
  • Problem solve to identify uses and create action steps
  • Understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift or move 10 pounds
