Job description

Located in the heart of St. Louis, the ICL Carondelet Plant is a key manufacturing facility specializing in the production of sodium, potassium, aluminum, and calcium phosphates. With a team of approximately 140 dedicated employees, the plant plays a vital role in delivering high quality products while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and teamwork. As the Engineering Manager, you will have responsibility for the development and execution of the site capital plan. You will partner with other functional managers to understand plant needs, and formulate a short term and long term capital strategy. You will provide direction to the team of project managers to successfully execute projects. You and your team will also provide support for immediate process support, as needed, to address small scale improvements, and unplanned equipment failures.

  • Develop and implement mid to short-term strategies and tactical actions to support business objectives
  • Monitor designs for safety, mechanical, electrical, and architectural compliance to ICL standards 
  • Development and execution of capital expenditure plans resulting in process improvements
  • Oversee the full scope of project timeliness and financials
  • Provide direction to Project Managers and Engineers to ensure that goals are clearly identified and delineated in the project documents
  • Consult with project sponsors to qualify and quantify specific project deliverables
  • Provide support for manufacturing problem resolution, as needed
  • Coordinate with Global Procurement to achieve best prices on purchases
  • Provide cash flow forecast and completion timeline to division management
  • Manage cash flow by monitoring invoice approval
  • Understand complex mechanical and electrical systems, including respective commissioning processes 
  • Coordinate with engineering managers from other sites to share best practices

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred)
  • 5+ years of project management experience, in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficient in all project management fundamentals
  • Ability to simultaneously organize, and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor, grow, and develop others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data and ERP systems (SAP preferred). 


What will set me apart?

  • Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge and experience working with common hand tools and machine shop tools
  • Proficiency in electrical design, schematics, troubleshooting, control systems, hydraulics, and plumbing
  • Interest and ability to function as Project Manager on specific projects in addition to overall management responsibility for other project managers.

Compensation at ICL: If you are hired at ICL, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).


Salary Range:  $110,000 - $150,000 annually

Annual Bonus Target: 12%, subject to plan provisions.
