This position works closely with plant leaders, and requires demonstration and competency of plant safety, legal/labor compliance and/or food quality standards. The Engineering Manager leverages company and external resources to provide insightful and innovative solutions to all items that impede plant efficiency, production and/or departmental morale. Must conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of inventory variances Review spare parts stock level Support plant operation meetings Attend vendor meetings and coordinate planning Oversee financial review and reporting, monitoring and reporting on Profit & Loss (P&L) reports for maintenance spend Conduct floor walks with superintendent for department-work verification Manage equipment trends: parts usage, breakdown frequencies, and top cost contributors; formulate and execute action plan to mitigate Conduct critical equipment inspection work verification Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) program assessments and modify based on trending, plant needs, and/or changes Demonstrate innovative, critical, and strategic thinking Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.) Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures Possess or attain licenses required by their respective municipal, county/ward or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment Essential Job Functions/RequirementsLICENSE License as required by state, industry, city, county (boiler, refrigeration, etc.). May be required to possess/maintain a valid license to operate applicable heavy equipment, including forklift.MOBILITY Physically capable of rapid, unimpeded movement to all areas of plant. Able to climb fixed and portable ladders. Able to crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment. Able to enter and exit confined spaces. Ability to lift and hold up to 50 pounds from floor level to 48 inches. Sufficient dexterity in fingers, arms & hands to perform complex wiring, welding and written communication.SENSORY Ability to distinguish color coded equipment, containers, label, signs, etc. Ability to view product for proper size and color. Vision enough to distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment. Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm systems. Must be able to hear and identify normal and abnormal equipment operating sounds.COMMUNICATION Ability to generate written communication. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/or other language, if required. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings. Ability to read and understand technical instructions on machine care and and maintenance.ATTENDANCE Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis. OTHER Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc. Ability to wear and use approved applicable safety equipment, as needed. Desired Experience Desired Experience Three to five years experience in plant maintenance and engineering in a maintenance supervisory role. Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, Welding, Electronic/Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, etc. 5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in industrial operations or related field. Strong knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and employee development. Knowledge of industrial machinery and preventive maintenance a plus Desired Education Desired Education Bachelor?s degree in engineering or related field is desired/High school diploma or equivalent is required.
