We are seeking a Engineering Manager to collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and coordination, cost control, schedule adherence, and high-quality deliverables.


The Team
This position is part of the NEXII Engineering, Product Development & Project Management Team. This team connects our construction customers' needs with our production facilities. Made up of engineers, project managers, Revit techs, and CAD designers, we take building design concepts and turn them into manufacturable panelized systems. Whether it's refining designs, solving technical challenges, or coordinating with production, we ensure everything flows smoothly from idea to installation.

Position Summary

The Engineering Manager provides leadership to the Project Management, Product Development & Design team, ensuring departmental activities are aligned with Nexii's goals for client satisfaction, technical excellence, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for developing and implementing processes that strengthen project delivery, integrate design and engineering solutions, and support consistent alignment with Nexii's principles and business objectives. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Engineering Manager will foster collaboration within and across teams, helping drive high-quality outcomes and exceptional results for Nexii.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Project Delivery & Design department, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in alignment with company objectives.
  • Lead and support the Product Development, Structural Engineering, Design, Project Management, and Site Supervision teams, providing guidance, coaching, and hands-on assistance to help achieve project goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and project outcomes.
  • Support departmental budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and resource tracking activities.
  • Monitor and report on team performance metrics and project KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Coordinate resource planning and workload distribution across teams to meet project schedules and priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure effective coordination between engineering, digital design, project management, and site teams to meet client requirements and project deadlines.
  • Maintain and continuously improve departmental processes, standards, and workflows to support consistent project execution and quality.
  • Actively participate in project reviews and provide hands-on support for complex project challenges, helping teams identify practical solutions.
  • Work with Project Managers to monitor project progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and maintain schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated and executed effectively.
  • Support the Sales team by providing technical input, project execution insights, and coordination to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Contribute to industry and client-facing meetings as needed to represent Nexii's project delivery, design, and engineering capabilities.
  • Actively engage with team members on project execution, problem-solving, and issue resolution to ensure successful project delivery.


Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in construction, architecture, engineering, project delivery, or a related field, including experience leading teams and coordinating project execution.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, materials, and sustainable building practices.
  • Experience managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, design, project management, and site personnel.
  • A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to work closely with teams to solve challenges, remove roadblocks, and support successful project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
  • A solid understanding of Canadian and U.S. building codes, construction standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate resources, workloads, and project activities across multiple teams.
  • Experience with digital design tools and BIM workflows, such as Autodesk Revit and Inventor, is considered an asset.
  • PMP certification andProfessional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation are considered an asset.
