Forth is seeking an individual with a passion for innovative projects which advance electric mobility. We're especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: electric vehicles and charging, micromobility, car sharing and other shared mobility programs, and electrifying farm equipment. As a Program Associate, you will implement processes to support project deliverables that advance one or more of Forth's strategic objectives and drive equitable access to electric mobility solutions.


We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about electric mobility, comfortable working with diverse consumers and organizational partners, and who share our commitment to racial diversity, equity, and inclusion. Initial Assignment: We're seeking a program associate for a variety of projects that include outreach events, on the ground fleet support, and supporting multiple projects.This is a great job for someone who is a self-starter that likes to wear many hats, is comfortable working in the office and field, and enjoys working with people from a variety of backgrounds.


Assignments may evolve over time based on organizational needs and staff development. This job description outlines the essential responsibilities and expectations for the role and applies regardless of project assignment.


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Project Support (~90%)

Under the direction and supervision of Project Leads, the Program Associate will:

  • Assist with day-to-day coordination tasks to support projects that advance electric mobility programs
  • Support specific tasks and timelines within project work plans to support the completion of deliverables and required reporting.
  • Help prepare and format project presentations and reports
  • Schedule meetings, take notes, and track action items with project partners and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication
  • Assist with the logistics and execution of public engagement and awareness campaigns related to project work, including participating in public events
  • Participate in team discussions to learn about strategies to scale the adoption of electric mobility
  • Support the collection and basic analysis of project data; contribute to project documentation and lessons learned summaries
  • Travel to meetings to provide support, as requested
  • Assist with coordinating working group activities and the convening of industry stakeholders, including scheduling meetings and managing communications
  • Provide on the ground fleet support

Business Development (~10%)

In collaboration with Development staff and under the direction of Programs staff, the Program Associate will:

  • Conduct background research to support the development of new project ideas and funding proposals
  • Provide administrative support on proposal development and grant applications, including preparing RFP responses and collecting documentation
  • Track industry trends and help maintain shared databases or resources related to funding opportunities
  • Gather and share partner/client feedback with program and development staff to inform future opportunities
  • Help promote Forth's activities and events to external partners

Other responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Experience and Education
    • One year of experience in project coordination, preferably in
      transportation, energy, or related field
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong project coordination, organizational, and time management skills
  • Collaborative, team player approach
  • Adaptable and flexible with a desire to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work independently or take direction, and attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting responsibilities and meet deadlines while maintaining work-life balance
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally, occasionally overnight
    • Up to 10 overnight trips per year
    • Regular, workday travel throughout Portland metro area
  • Located in or willing to relocate to Portland, OR before starting
  • Able to maintain a safe home office environment
  • A valid drivers license and clean driving record

COMPENSATION

Starting salary range is $49,500 to $59,500 annually, commensurate with experience. Forth has adopted a Compensation Philosophy to define our strategy and guiding principles for how pay is determined, managed and communicated to team members. Forth strives to pay competitive salaries while prioritizing internal pay equity. We set pay ranges for all roles based on classification level, benchmarked against similar-stage growth organizations in all sectors and several US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by considering the amount and relevancy of education and prior work experience.


Excellent benefits include four weeks of paid vacation annually, fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance for the employee and all dependents, and an employer retirement contribution after six months (no match required). We also provide access to electric vehicles for business use, a professional development budget, an Employee Assistance Program, and a flexible working schedule.
