Job description

Summary/Purpose of the Position:
The TestEquity Environmental Chamber Engineer designs, operates, maintains, and tests specialized equipment that simulates extreme environmental conditions like temperature, humidity.
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
  • System Design: Develop, modify, and optimize refrigeration, heating, electrical, and control systems for TEQ environmental test chambers.
  • Maintenance & Calibration: Support our OEM manufacturers by performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical failures, and calibrate sensors to ensure testing accuracy.
  • Test Execution: Program and run profiles on (e.g., thermal cycling, steady-state humidity) according to international standards.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor chamber performance, compile test data, and draft technical evaluation reports for our OEM manufacturers.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment complies with occupational safety standards, pressure vessel regulations, and environmental laws regarding refrigerants.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming and HMI software.
    • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and refrigeration systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and blueprints.
    • Familiarity with data acquisition (DAQ) hardware and software
  • Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience working with industrial ovens, environmental chambers, or complex HVAC/R systems.
