Job description

JSW Steel is seeking to hire a Tester to join our Metlab department.
The Tester is responsible for safely performing material testing (tensile, hardness, bend, drop weight, and coating tests), preparing samples to precise specifications, maintain equipment, and report results.
Responsibilities:
  • Work safely in a complex industrial environment with high heat, pressure, and moving equipment.
  • Make and test samples with required dimensional tolerances per appropriate specifications.
  • Perform types of tests- tensile, hardness, bend, drop weight, and NACE coating tests
  • Maintain and clean equipment.
  • Enter data and create accurate reports using a computer.

Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience operating equipment including bandsaws, lathes, grinder and milling machines and test equipment preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to work rotating shift- 6:00am-6:00pm- 12hr. Shifts Rotating- 4 on 2 off.
  • Results-driven, attention to detail, team-oriented, analytical, problem-solving skills, strong communication skills
