Job description

Technical Assistant

Serves as a technical assistant to the Administrative Officer in the Civilian Personnel Office (CPO) and other staff personnel on all civilian administrative and technical procedures and personnel automated software.

Serves as personnel liaison to the Administrative Officer and Staff, and relays information from the personnel community to the Staff on such subjects as position management, classification, recruitment and staffing, etc.

Responsible for civilian personnel files and local records maintenance, civilian correspondence, evaluation reports, promotions, awards, temporary duty orders, and duty rosters.

Assists in the coordination with the Brigade S-3 (Force Modernization Office) for the TDA authorization/requirements to achieve optimum position management.

Primarily responsible for the following functions and programs: personnel database management, automation management, and the Civilian Sponsorship Program.

Provides liaison assistance between assigned civilians and Customer Service Representatives regarding pay issues.

Inspects subordinate organizations to ensure that they adhere to prescribed procedures and established policies and that legal or regulatory requirements are properly identified and corrections are made.
