Job description

Program Support Assistant

Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible to support the functions of community contract programs by assisting in inquiries and relating information to appropriate community partners, staff, either within GEC or other clinical centers/services.
  • Assists as needed the needs of Veterans and community partners while supporting the medical center and GECCC administrative support service missions.
  • Provides Veterans and community partners with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the primary contact for community partners, VA staff and regulatory agencies.
  • Addresses conflict and difficulty with Veterans, community partners and VA staff constructively and appropriately.
  • Have general knowledge of accounting concepts and auditing procedures to ensure proper charges for the services provided by the programs.
  • Performs a variety of specialized clerical duties within Home and Community Based Service programs within GEC service.
  • Knowledge of English grammar and usage, spelling, punctuation, abbreviations, and correspondence formats outlined by the VAMHCS, VISN and community partners.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriately and continuously relate to internal and external customers.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm
