Veritas Spine & Joint is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing Interventional Pain Management practice.
This is more than a traditional Medical Assistant role. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. Our Medical Assistants are trusted members of the clinical team and play a vital role in supporting providers, educating patients, assisting with procedures, and helping our practice continue to grow.

Position Summary
The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers while ensuring an outstanding patient experience. This role is responsible for patient intake, assisting with procedures, preparing exam and procedure rooms, patient education, documentation, and supporting daily clinic operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Patient Care
  • Welcome and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medication reconciliation, and chief complaints
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Ensure patient comfort and privacy throughout their visit
Clinical Support
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during in-office procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sterile procedure rooms
  • Perform injections, blood draws, EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical duties within scope of practice
  • Clean, disinfect, and stock exam and procedure rooms
  • Maintain infection prevention and OSHA standards
Administrative & Documentation
  • Accurately document patient information in Epic EMR
  • Assist with procedure scheduling and coordination
  • Support prior authorization requests and referrals as needed
  • Process laboratory specimens and maintain documentation
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering clinical supplies
Team Support
  • Cross-train in multiple clinic workflows
  • Assist front office staff during busy periods when appropriate
  • Support new service lines including regenerative medicine (PRP), medical weight management, IV infusion therapy, and other specialty services
  • Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
Preferred
  • Minimum one year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, spine, neurology, sports medicine, surgery, or another procedural specialty
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience assisting with in-office procedures
