PMP Certified Cybersecurity Program/Project Manager

UNIVERSAL Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced PMP Certified Cybersecurity Project/Program Manager for a hybrid position in Albany, NY to support a large-scale Cyber Risk Remediation Program. Local candidates only, active LinkedIn preferred. The Project Manager will provide project management leadership for complex cybersecurity and technology initiatives, coordinating across technical teams, vendors, program groups, government stakeholders, sponsors, and executive leadership. Project Manager will also initially support a multi-factor authentication (MFA) initiative involving the procurement, distribution, inventory tracking, and implementation of hardware authentication tokens for participating government entities.

*** Staff will report to assigned on-site, work location a minimum of 5 days every 2 weeks (50%). This on-site requirement is mandatory.

*** Minimal travel to other locations in Albany may be required – expenses will not be reimbursed.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Extensive experience as a Project Manager supporting and overseeing complex technology projects.
  • Experience managing technology projects requiring coordination among technology providers, IT groups, vendors, program groups, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex technology projects simultaneously.
  • Experience serving as a lead Program Manager or Project Manager within the Information Technology field.
  • Experience managing or overseeing the analysis, design, development, procurement, and integration of IT solutions for large-scale, complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence organizational change, manage relationships, and maintain responsiveness across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to use expertise, influence, and communication skills to ensure project tasks and deliverables are completed successfully.
  • Experience managing large, multi-million-dollar programs and/or managing three or more projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project planning, organization, prioritization, scheduling, risk management, change management, and documentation skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project or comparable project scheduling software.
  • Experience developing and maintaining standard project management artifacts for complex technology initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex and technical concepts to project teams, sponsors, stakeholders, and executive-level management.
  • Experience facilitating project meetings, Scrum meetings, knowledge-transfer sessions, and executive status meetings in both remote and in-person environments.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and remote meeting technologies, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, email, instant messaging, and chat platforms.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

  • Provide project management services in support of a large-scale Cyber Risk Remediation Program.
  • Project Manager will initially support a multi-factor authentication (MFA) initiative involving the procurement, distribution, inventory tracking, and implementation of hardware authentication tokens for participating government entities.
  • This role requires extensive experience managing complex technology projects, developing and maintaining project management artifacts, managing risks and changes, overseeing schedules and deliverables, and effectively leading multiple project teams.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, sponsors, and executive leadership.
  • Monitor project activities, milestones, risks, deliverables, and overall progress and provide regular project reporting.
  • Report to program leadership and provide timely updates regarding project status, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate and share project vision with project teams, sponsors, stakeholders, and executive-level managers using reports, presentations, email, and other collaboration tools.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction for multiple project teams.
  • Organize, prioritize, coordinate, and document personal and project team activities.
  • Negotiate and coordinate across internal and external organizations, agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage project teams and align team members, sponsors, and stakeholders with project goals by clarifying roles and responsibilities, delegating work, managing conflicts, evaluating performance, and coaching team members.
  • Develop project scopes that establish attainable requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project and ensure deadlines and milestones are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop, utilize, and maintain standard project management artifacts required to successfully manage complex cybersecurity projects in accordance with established organizational standards.
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques by gathering and analyzing relevant information and data and presenting appropriate solutions.
  • Apply structured change-management processes to communicate, document, review, and obtain approval for project changes.
  • Promote and maintain a professional and collaborative work environment.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings in conjunction with project and team leads, including project meetings, Scrum meetings, knowledge-transfer sessions, and executive status-reporting meetings.
  • Facilitate meetings remotely and in person, as required.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, particularly when communicating complex or technical concepts and facilitating key stakeholder engagements.
  • Utilize communication and collaboration platforms including email, instant messaging, chat, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, and related technologies.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and effectively communicate changes, expectations, and impacts to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Partner with other managers and Project Managers to support the effective implementation of the overall Cyber Risk Remediation Program.
  • Collaborate on project deliverables and tasks supporting enterprise cybersecurity and security operations initiatives.
  • Support program leadership with procurement management and deliverable management activities.
  • Initially support a multi-factor authentication (MFA) grant initiative involving the procurement and distribution of hardware authentication tokens to eligible government entities to help protect critical government systems and accounts.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for eligible government entities participating in the MFA initiative.
  • Coordinate and collect required signatures on intergovernmental agreements associated with participating entities.
  • Monitor the distribution of hardware authentication tokens to eligible entities by the hardware vendor.
  • Track hardware authentication token inventory and distribution activities.
  • Provide frequent progress updates and quarterly inventory status reports.
  • Support additional related cybersecurity and information security initiatives as required.
