Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of each designated project to ensure that the customer is satisfied and that each project meets the following objectives: each project is accomplished within prescribed time frame, meets defined cost’s, conforms to internal quality standards and shipment parameters. Success will be formed by a creative outlook on each project by performing the assigned duties personally and through support of the individual departmental managers. This position will report directly to the ICS Operations Manager with a dotted line report to the Director of ICS Sales and Retrofits.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews project proposal, sales documents and equipment specifications to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of project. Communicates requirements to department managers and monitors progress. Resolve discrepancies related to contract definition with customers and/or the internal sales group.
  • Perform the 5 Project Management Responsibilities: Initiating, Planning, Monitoring/Controlling and Closing
  • Establishes work plan and communicates with department managers to support staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Develops and updates project schedules as well as updates product master schedules for weekly review with management group
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Helps coordinate activities of department managers to ensure on-time project performance.
  • Works closely with Accounting and Purchasing Departments; ensuring projects are within prescribed budget and to control shipments in line with financial reporting. Helps support timely receipt of project milestone payments from customers.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Responsible to prepare project reports for: C-level, management, client, or others.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies as necessary.
  • Acts as the direct liaison between the customer and in-house resources to ensure that the customers’ expectations are met.
  • Works with Sales and Marketing Department to generate and provide quotations for customers who are looking to enhance or modify the scope of the project.
  • Expedite technical problems during the engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality phases for a timely resolution to problems.
  • Responsible for all customer required approvals
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge to be able to setup and structure Bill of Materials (BOM) and labor routers
  • Effectively manage, communicate, execute and enhance the change management process
  • Manage internal capital expenditure (CapEx) projects for new equipment and facilities upgrades
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively and clearly present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Possess high creative reasoning and attention to detail abilities.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently without direct supervision
  • Possess strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to adjust to a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities, timely follow up on multiple projects and multiple open issues simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency in Project Management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems
  • Ability to navigate Autodesk software
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of time domestically, with occasional international travel. Must be able to travel by air.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering or a technical field.
  • Two (2) years direct Project Management experience required, this can include facilitating a role as Project Engineer.
  • Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering experience required.
  • Experience managing CapEx projects required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
