Job description

RV FARM Technicianย 
Part Time hourly/ administrative position forย the RVย Food Service Department.
The ideal candidate would beย an agriculture and education minded individual with good verbal and written communication skills that is not afraid to get theirย hands dirty.
$15.00 an hour
Flexible hours throughout the week
Position may require some evening and weekend events throughout the year (anticipate up to 12)
Anticipated start date: Immediately
Position could lead to a full time position but not guaranteed.ย 
Duties to include but not be limited to:
ย Work with the Food Service Administrative team for crop planning and planting schedule to ย ย 
ย  ensure harvest time is in line with food service needs.
ย Tend to the needs of the farm from seed to harvest.
ย Build processes and procedure manuals including but not limited to pesticides, pests,
ย  rodents, weeds, handling produce, HACCP plan.
ย Help create and play an active role in community engagement events within our school ย 
ย ย district- 4 per year.
ย Play an active role in events that our local communities host that pertain to farm, fresh
ย  foods, and produce.
ย Help create and lead successful Summer Camp programs.
ย Lead Student Internship program
ย Put monthly purchase requests in for equipment and supplies to the Food Service Director.
ย Track planting and harvesting yields throughout the year.
ย Monthly Farm/Produce education sessions in classrooms.
ย Involvement of every other week Wellness Club meetings at Middle School w/ 6thย grade
ย ย (after-school club)
ย Marketing of our farm progress & Farm to School Program through social media.
ย Communicate weekly with the Food Service Director w/ weekly schedule and plan.
ย Meet the yearly professional development training requirements as they are assigned.
ย Support Food Service Department as necessary
ย Other duties as assigned by Food Service Director
ย Partner with teachers to help support farm and food curriculum
Requirements:
ย High School Diploma or equivalent.
ย Knowledgeable of Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P. certification)
ย State and Federal Background checks required
ย Meet all other requirement for employment with River Valley Local Schools
