Duties and Responsibilities:
- *Collaborate with the Hawai'i Afterschool Alliance (HAA) Executive Director, Program Director, and community school stakeholders to design, lead, and implement multi-faceted, cross-sector initiatives that advance the community schools strategy.
- *Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of meetings and convenings with diverse stakeholders, including community school practitioners, funders, advocates, and HIDOE staff.
- *Assess, design, and implement professional development and technical assistance strategies based on identified needs of community school programs and staff.
- *Design, coordinate, and promote online and in-person professional learning opportunities aligned with best practices in community schools and youth development.
- *Provide coaching and technical assistance, exercising independent judgment to support schools and practitioners in the effective implementation of the community schools strategy.
- *Develop and disseminate coaching tools, resources, and templates to support high-quality implementation and sustainability.
- *Lead partnership development efforts by designing and implementing engagement strategies with community-based organizations (CBOs), businesses, government agencies, and other partners.
- *Conduct policy research and analysis; develop and advance recommendations that inform advocacy strategies and support systems-level change.
- Support HAA's communications strategy to increase awareness of community schools, including contributions to publications, website content, newsletters, and social media.
- *Lead continuous improvement processes, including developing and implementing evaluation frameworks, collecting and analyzing data, and using findings to inform program design and strategic decision-making.
- Lead or support grant development and management, including proposal writing, budget development, tracking deliverables, and coordinating with partners and funders.
- Assist in the management and monitoring of program budgets, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and organizational priorities.
- Provide functional supervision and leadership to undergraduate student assistants, temporary staff, and project teams, including assigning work, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality of deliverables.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and state agencies to inform policy development; develop and implement action plans to advance policy priorities.
- Independently manage multiple projects and priorities, exercising sound judgment in problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Business Administration, Communications, Sociology, Social Work or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for independent project or program management in community schools, education, youth development and/or community development; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of coaching, training, or technical assistance for youth-serving programs and/or K-12 education as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with K-12 education, youth development or community schools.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and standard office software (presentations, spreadsheets, etc).
- If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
- Demonstrated experience building partnerships or coalitions across organizations, sectors, or stakeholder groups.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
- Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. Requirement may be fulfilled by a valid Hawai'i Driver's license (Class 3), comparable driver's license, or other means of transportation that meets position needs.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Possession of a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Development, Public Administration, or related field.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience with publishing research-based articles.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and strategies.
