Job Description:
This job is responsible for overseeing programs and projects specific to corporate change initiatives that impact how the bank does business, provides a product or service, or executes a function. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact to department managers for critical change initiatives and communicating, influencing, and negotiating vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage resources. Job expectations include delivering regulatory and executive materials and ensuring results align to program strategy, simplification, and new capabilities.Responsible for the execution of program(s) and associated projects, that have a significant impact on how the Bank and Global Payments Solutions do business, provide services to clients, adhere with regulatory or regional requirements or execute a function.


Responsibilities:

  • Defines program controls, processes, procedures, reporting cadence, decision governance structures, and ways of working with key stakeholders

  • Works closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new change initiatives

  • Monitors the execution of defined tasks through tracking of program milestones and their statuses, developing program plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators

  • Analyzes, evaluates, and overcomes program risks, and produces program reports for managers and stakeholders

  • Identifies key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors to perform in alignment with the program objectives

  • Works with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department, leading them to negotiate decision making for efficient and effective resolution

  • Meets with stakeholders to provide transparency into project issues and decisions on services, builds positive relationships, asks questions, and uses tools to uncover root causes to challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations

  • Demonstrates strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work, identify critical path and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to cater style/approach based on audience

  • Displays ability to utilize sound business judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal business outcomes

  • Serves as primary contact to stakeholders and senior leaders as appropriate on critical change or special project initiatives

  • Works with Program Executive and Program Sponsor to develop program objectives, business outcomes and success criteria and capture in Program Charter

  • Identifies key program stakeholders, defines their role and required outcomes and with project manager assigns key activities

  • Communicates, influences and negotiates both vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage necessary resources

  • Drives stakeholder engagement and resolves gaps in program/project representation from key functional teams as required

  • Ensures clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities for key program/project roles

  • Responsible for coaching, guiding and providing direction to program/project team

  • Creates a clear, coherent approach to guide effective program / initiative setup, execution, and control

  • Defines, owns and facilitates required management routines for program with detailed understanding of enterprise and PMO governance requirements

  • Manages program scope, timeline and budget by facilitating program routines to assess overall health, manage risks/issues, identify change controls, etc.

  • Accountable for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating implementation

  • Integrates knowledge of end-to-end business process into program planning and decisioning processes

  • Maintains program level TAR list and drives decisions to facilitate resolution

  • Active participant in program and project plan development and owns ensuring adherence to schedule overall and critical path

  • Acts as point of escalation for project managers and business stakeholders identified as participants in program

  • For Technology programs: partners with Tech program manager to facilitate delivery together - people, process and tech

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of project management experience

  • Knowledge of structured project management methods

  • Knowledge of Bank's Enterprise Change Policy & Standards

  • Track record of delivering programs to plan and on budget

  • Ability to assess an ill-defined problem and propose the tasks & deliverables that will be necessary to achieve the desired outcome

  • Ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders at different levels

  • Proficient with MS products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio

  • Experience operating and leading in a matrix management org structure
