Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Operations Manager 2 to lead food service operations at Brattleboro Retreat, a nationally recognized, nonprofit psychiatric and addiction treatment hospital located on a scenic Vermont campus. This role is ideal for a handson leader who thrives in a healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering highquality food service that supports patient care, staff satisfaction, and overall wellbeing.

Brattleboro Retreat has provided comprehensive mental health services since 1834, offering inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs for children, adolescents, and adults. The facility is widely recognized for its compassionate, patientcentered approach and high clinical standards, serving patients from across Vermont and New England.

What You'll Do

As the Food Operations Manager 2, you will oversee daily food service operations while ensuring safety, quality, and service excellence in a behavioral health setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage daytoday food service operations including patient dining, retail services, and catering
  • Lead, train, and develop frontline food service teams to drive engagement and performance
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards (including healthcare and Sodexo policies)
  • Oversee food preparation, production, and service to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Support retail and catering operations, including menu execution, service flow, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor labor, food costs, and inventory while meeting budgetary and operational goals
  • Partner with clinical, nursing, and facility leadership to support patient experience and special dietary needs
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
