GENERAL FUNCTION

The position will focus on ensuring that the North American Transportation Network plays a crucial role in delivering service to customers, providing the right service at the right cost through a diversified carrier portfolio. This is achieved by partnering with various departments and business channels, such as Retail, Wholesale, and E-commerce, with an emphasis on proactive process improvements to gain transportation cost and service advantages.

The role is situated at the intersection of analytical and strategic functions within the dynamic North American Transportation environment. It leverages transportation principles, analytical thinking, and operational experience to collaborate with stakeholders, driving excellence in cost savings, process improvements, and service optimization.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the effective and efficient transportation of goods to customers.
  • Works collaboratively to support functional areas of customer delivery, transportation and planning.
  • Creates, monitors and reports on the critical KPI’s that measure the performance of the transportation network against agreed upon service standards; implements process changes that correct deviations from expected results.
  • Manages and monitors the Wholesale, Retail and Web business unit's shipment programs in NA
  • Collaborates with Global Network and Corporate Sourcing teams as needed
  • Develop a carrier strategy that allows the company to reduce risk while optimizing service and cost.
  • Establishes policies/standards/procedures and rates in administration of carrier contracts.
  • Manages and monitors all Canada and US Domestic transportation expense.
  • Closely monitors all carrier performance on cost, on-time delivery using multiple reports.
  • Supports yearly cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitors and supports small parcel contracts; supports annual negotiations and RFQ’s.
  • Seek out and evaluates new transportation opportunities by providing in-depth analysis, cost modeling and financial impacts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong proactiveness, passion, accountability, and self-motivation along with excellent problem-solving and data analytics skills.
  • Quick learner
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field, and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation OR Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field, and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a related occupation.
  • Proficiency skills required, Microsoft package (Power point, Excel, Word, Visio).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred skills, PMP certificate, SQL or VBA; PowerBI or Tableau; Alteryx or Qlik etc. of data preparation tools; Working with transportation management system and warehouse management software such as SAP and Oracle; Six sigma or Lean related project experience.
