Position Summary

Are you pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Construction Management, or Project Management and interested in learning how large infrastructure projects are managed financially?

Henkels & McCoy is seeking a Project Controls Intern to support our Finance, Operations, and Project Management teams. This internship offers practical experience in project financial management, forecasting, cost tracking, billing, reporting, and operational analysis. The intern will gain exposure to the financial and operational processes that drive successful infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced project controls and finance professionals.


Responsibilities
  • Assist with project setup and maintenance within financial systems.
  • Support the tracking and analysis of project costs, budgets, and revenue.
  • Help monitor customer billing activities and project expenditures.
  • Assist with forecasting project financial performance and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards related to project financial and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance teams to gather and analyze project data.
  • Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with documenting and maintaining financial controls and business processes.
  • Participate in ad hoc reporting and analysis projects.
  • Gain exposure to project accounting practices, forecasting methodologies, and infrastructure project management.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Business Administration

    • Project Management
    • Economics or related field
  • Strong interest in project controls, construction finance, or infrastructure operations.
