Job Description:

Agile Program Delivery Manager

As an Agile Program Delivery Manager on the GRS Marketing team, you will champion agile ways of working across a high-performing marketing organization, enabling teams to deliver impactful digital client engagement initiatives. You'll remove obstacles, foster collaboration, drive continuous improvement, support portfolio planning, and help advance Sun Life's agile marketing transformation while maximizing team performance, quality, and delivery velocity.

What will you do?

  • Support marketing delivery excellence. Support the marketing delivery team by identifying opportunities to accelerate and improve marketing processes, outputs, and digital marketing strategy through agile thinking.
  • Embed Agile delivery practices by inspiring and facilitating Agile values across the team, including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, backlog management, and other essential ceremonies. Guide the Agile marketing team and stakeholders in embracing Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Project management and strategic planning. Provide overall project management and capacity utilization planning, including forecasting, for the team. Drive or support definition of campaign goals, support the creation of client stories, build team backlogs, time-box deliverables, and support campaign development and testing. Capture levels of effort, timelines, and resourcing and budgetary requirements of digital strategy portfolio initiatives.
  • Issue resolution and stakeholder management. Lead issue and roadblock resolution by engaging and navigating with cross-functional partners to anticipate risks and address issues proactively. Engage stakeholders and leadership to maintain team progress and momentum.
  • Escalation management - Provide escalation support to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and implement effective resolutions.
  • Digital strategy and marketing technology leadership. Take the lead on the team's management and implementation of digital strategy initiatives and marketing technology, including POCs and implementations.
  • Coach and facilitate. Coach team members to optimize individual and group contributions and maximize campaign ROI through effective agile practices and process improvement.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years' experience in agile practices and coaching dynamic teams with proven results and deliverables
  • 3+ years as part of a high-performance marketing organization (i.e. large consumer brand, cutting-edge advertising agency, leading financial services organization, or marketing/media practice of a top management consulting firm)
  • Subject matter expert in agile practices (Scrum framework)
  • High level of accountability
  • Collaboration, leading through influence, relationship building across diverse groups and teams
  • Able to gather and prioritize information for quick, informed decisions
  • Experience spanning ideation through development and execution
  • Advocate for using capacity to optimize OKR and customer experience
  • Strong negotiation skills and willingness to challenge and be challenged
  • Experienced in backlog building, burndown tracking, etc

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
