Job Summary
The District Manager I is responsible for managing the day-to-day collection operations of a single site or multiples sites or a single Line of Business or multiple Lines of Business, establishes, and maintains performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes. Responsible for P&L. Operation Managers and/or District Operations Managers will report directly to this role.

Location: 2332 Lennox and Addington County Rd 41, Roblin, ON K0K 2W0
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Manages the District's day-to-day operations and provides daily support to drivers in ensuring safety, service, and savings.
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OHS, and other standards and regulations.
  • Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following up with consistent coaching and retraining.
  • Oversees department personnel needs, including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Manages termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Formulates short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Collection Operations.
  • Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.
  • Interacts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new contracts; establishes WM as a good corporate citizen and valued resource.


Qualifications 
A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Associate's Degree or in lieue of post-secondary a High School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years relevant of work experience
  • 2 years in a role with supervisory and P&L responsibility (in addition to education requirement).
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record


B. Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in the logistics/transportation industry in a leadership capacity
  • Union experience an asset
  • Selfdirected and accountable, with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
  • Transparent, reliable team player who builds strong working relationships across departments

Pay: The expected base pay range for this on-site position in Roblin, ON is $100,000 - $108,200. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus. This position is for an existing vacancy.
