Job Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and completion of multiple healthcare assurance engagements, including audits, reviews, and compilations for healthcare organizations such as hospitals, health systems, physician practices, and other healthcare entities.

  • Manage engagement workflows and deliverables to minimize risks and surprises, ensure high-quality service, optimize engagement economics, and meet all internal and external deadlines.

  • Lead engagement planning, including scheduling, staffing, risk assessments, reliance on internal controls, materiality, and overall audit approach, with a focus on healthcare-specific risks.

  • Review engagement workpapers and reports to ensure compliance with firm policies, GAAP, GAAS, and applicable healthcare regulatory standards.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS as they relate to healthcare organizations, including revenue recognition, third-party reimbursement, patient receivables, cost reporting, and internal controls

  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, formal performance feedback, and career guidance to supervisors and staff.

  • Monitor budgets to actual and actively manage engagement profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

  • Active CPA license

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct healthcare audit experience, including hospitals, health systems, or federally funded healthcare programs

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $101,700 - $137,700. For Washington residents, Illinois residents, New York residents, and Southern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $111,200 - $151,500. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $117,800 - $158,400. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
