Job description

SMX is seeking one Mid-Level Mission Financial Analyst to support US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI). This Financial Analyst will build and maintain exercise requirements, manage fiscal budgets and funding for space domain of theater-level exercises. This position requires a current DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Top-Secret SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship.

Application Deadline: June 29, 2026 Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Develop, document, and maintain exercise requirements for the 5-year program cycle, ensuring alignment with long-term strategic objectives and resource availability. * Collaborate with exercise stakeholders to compile, validate, and analyze exercise cost data. * Prepare and present financial reports and briefings related to exercise requirements.

* Track and monitor historical exercise requirements updates throughout the fiscal years, identifying changes and codifying requirements for future program cycles. * Manage the fiscal year budget, including tracking expenditures, forecasting future needs, and ensuring compliance with budgetary restrictions. * Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective action.

* Prepare and submit accurate and timely budget reports. * Provide inputs to assist in the development of the component's annual budget request * Oversee Defense Travel System (DTS) obligations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with travel regulations. * Serve as Alternate lead on Contingency, Exercise, and Deployment (CED) orders products, including tracking augmentation, expenditures, and reporting.

* Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions. Required Skills & Experience * Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Top-Secret SCI security clearance. * Ability to communicate and coordinate with allies and partner nations, including their respective commands.

* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products. * Highly organized as all focus areas require tracking multiple requirements, maintaining a large amount of data in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent technical writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

* Customer focused. * Capacity to learn new systems rapidly and adapt quickly to change. Desired Skills & Experience * Experience with US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI).

* Intra-agency or joint command experience. * Budget, forecasting and reporting experience. * Present and speak to complex financial data for non-finance users.
