Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

Responsibilities

As a Corporate Program Portfolio Manager, you will:

  • Oversee and manage defense corporate portfolios of accesses for industry partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all access to sensitive and classified government information is handled securely and in full compliance with all relevant federal and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • Establish and enforce robust security protocols and access controls for industry defense program portfolios.
  • Manage the processes authorizing contractor personnel access to designated programs, facilities, and information.
  • Maintain and enforce Security Classification Guides (SCG) across the portfolio, ensuring information is managed properly according to classification levels.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies and contractors regarding portfolio-wide security and access matters.
  • Conduct regular audits and compliance reviews of program access logs and security procedures to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Present program status, risk assessments, and performance metrics to senior leadership and government stakeholders through clear and impactful briefings and reports.
  • Mentor and create development opportunities for program management staff to enhance expertise across the team.

A week in the life of a Corporate Program Portfolio Manager:

  • Ensure security, policy, and compliance of corporate portfolios and program success.
  • Leading the end-to-end management of access requirements for defense contractor portfolios and ensuring authorized and timely program participation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to government and Department of Defense security directives
  • Perform routine audits and security assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities within industry partners and program infrastructure.
  • Administer and monitor security access requests, renewals, and ongoing maintenance for all relevant portfolios, while coordinating with federal agencies to ensure timely and accurate security processing.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive security awareness training and briefings, equipping industry to properly handle classified and sensitive information and strengthening the organization’s security culture.
  • Design and implement robust protocols governing the maintenance of a corporate program portfolio to safeguard against unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government and industry security representatives, program managers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and ensure program objectives and requirements are consistently met.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across the portfolio program, taking decisive steps to minimize potential impacts and uphold operational integrity.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of project/program management experience in a classified environment
  • Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills.
  • Possess an analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at briefing executives and senior government and military leadership.
  • Experience in the transmittal and transfer of classified material, tracking and accounting for agency classified material, and usage of GSA storage containers.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Sharepoint.
  • Ability to work with limited/minimal supervision in a high functioning, fast paced work environment.

CLEARANCE:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $170,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
