Description

The Principal Data Analyst will serve as the Capital Markets Data & Analytics lead for Citizens Bank. This colleague will be responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing advanced analytics capabilities that power intelligence features for  Capital Markets bankers. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, applied analytics, and product development-ensuring Capital Markets insights are deeply integrated into Banker facing capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly technical analytics professional capable of navigating complex data environments, translating business needs into scalable analytical assets, and partnering closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Markets Data Leadership

  • Own the endtoend analytical design for Capital Markets use cases (e.g., Debt Capital Markets, Equities Capital Markets, M&A Advisory and Global Market products )
  • Lead data exploration, profiling, and harmonization across multiple internal data sources (pipeline, pricing, positions, linelevel trades, customer exposures).
  • Develop a deep understanding of Capital Markets business processes, revenue drivers, and client engagement workflows.

Advanced Analytics & Feature Development

  • Design highquality, productionready data transformations and analytical layers used by machine learning, agentic and generative AI solutions.
  • Partner with modelers and data scientists to operationalize advanced models (e.g., propensity models, anomaly detection, revenue forecasting). 
  • Ensure Capital Markets analytics integrate seamlessly with core Capital Markets Data Infrastructure. 
  • Provide inputs and guidance into design and build of curated data model for Capital Markets data infrastructure including internal and market data sources. 
  • Translate analytical outputs into consumable banker facing insights, narratives using ML explainability and business domain.
  • Define and enforce data standards, data quality checks, lineage, and issueresolution processes for Capital Markets data domains. 
  • Build analytical features that support Banker intelligence: crosssell predictions, deal propensity, riskadjusted returns, volatilitydriven customer triggers, liquidity and ratesensitivity indicators.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Governance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Serve as primary analytical partner to Capital Markets product leaders, deal teams, and sales managers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Digital, and Enterprise Data teams to prioritize work, define requirements, and build scalable components
  • Communicate analytical insights and design recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in data analytics, data product development, or applied quantitative roles.
  • Deep familiarity with Capital Markets data structures and product sets ((e.g., Debt Capital Markets, Equities Capital Markets, M&A Advisory and Global Market products )
  • Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Databricks).
  • Demonstrated experience building complex analytical datasets and supporting AI/ML pipelines.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete analytical requirements and deliverables.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to interface with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Prior experience in Investment Banking or Capital Markets analytics environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI/ML products, market data (e.g. Bloomberg, Factset, Pitchbook etc). 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, banker workflows, and RM enablement tools.
  • Experience integrating analytics into SaaS, cloud, or microservicesbased platforms.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hybrid: 4 days per week on-site, 1 day remote

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $140,000-$170,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
