Position Summary

Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating County public assistance grant programs while providing leadership for assigned personnel, fiscal stewardship, strategic planning, grant development, regulatory compliance, and program performance. Oversees the administration of state, federal, and local grant-funded programs that provide direct and indirect assistance, information, prevention, and intervention services to seniors, families, and other eligible community members. Ensures program integrity, regulatory compliance, fiscal sustainability, effective service delivery, achievement of strategic objectives, and accurate reporting of program outcomes. Provides leadership for staff, grant administration, budget development and oversight, data reporting, and continuous program improvement. Serves as a member of the Health and Human Services leadership team, contributing to departmental planning, organizational initiatives, policy development, and continuous improvement efforts.


Pay Rate

The hourly range $33.66 to $38.32 depending on experience, plus partial benefits.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Must complete National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) training, including ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700 within one (1) year of hire, and ICS-300 and ICS-800 within two (2) years of hire.ย 
  • Must successfully pass all required pre-employment and post-offer screenings, including:
  • Criminal background investigation
  • Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Registry checkย 
  • Motor vehicle record check
  • Drug screening (if required by County policy)

Qualifications/Education

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Public Health, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a closely related field.ย 
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered at the County's discretion.ย 

Experience

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in human services, public assistance, grant administration, program management, public administration, or a related field.ย 
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience with responsibility for directing staff, managing performance, and overseeing program operations.ย 
  • Experience administering state and/or federally funded grant programs, including grant compliance, budget administration, reporting, and program evaluation, is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and administering grant-funded programs within a local government or public sector environment.ย 
  • Experience preparing successful grant applications and managing multiple funding sources.ย 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is desirable.ย 
  • Experience working with diverse populations and community partners.
