Job description

The Program Manager, working under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, has the overall responsibility and ownership of program execution including budget, schedule, scope, and quality for complex programs for customers within our Aero Defense Value Stream. Candidate will ensure efficient and profitable management of the program, lead IPT teams to drive results while maintaining and growing customer relationships. Overseeing a strong customer base for a business unit experiencing double digit topline sales growth year over year while leading a team of dedicated hard working individuals
Responsibilities:
  • Review program(s) technical and contractual requirements.
  • Identify and assign action items and schedules to pre-production team members (Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, etc.).
  • Monitor schedule progress and action item completion through the maintenance of the online Task Tracking System.
  • Evaluate the methods and processes for the most efficient/Lean and economical part production.
  • Identify and communicate to management and pre-production team any issues and/or problems that will affect meeting customer commitments.
  • Maintain dialog and positive working relationships with customers.
  • Develop program implementation plans.
  • Involved with research and product development.
  • Ensure that estimated material and labor standards are met and monitored.
  • Effectively communicate with the customer, both internal and external, as well as communicating effectively as a leader.
  • Monitor budgets throughout life of the program.
  • Manage all parts of assigned programs to ensure all teams have the required resources to complete the projects within the required deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arrive for both external and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education:
  • BS in Business or similar related field required

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • 5 years program management and project engineering experience is preferred.
  • Business Development (Bid and Proposal) and Inside Sales experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent command of computer skills is required including MS Office, Project Management software and company related systems (after training)
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Kaizen and/or Lean techniques is strongly desired.
  • Strong verbal, written and customer management skills
  • Sales background preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
