This position pays between $55,520.00 to $69,400.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

This position involves frequent in-state travel and may require regular visits to various regions across the state, including Northern, Southern, and Metro areas.

This exciting opportunity is focused on community outreach throughout the state of New Mexico, and the successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting and educating our customers on our energy efficiency programs and their benefits. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts customer outreach throughout NMGC’s service territory to STIP/LTIP Audit generate participation in energy efficiency programs
  • Promotes and educates both internal and external customers on NMGC energy efficiency programs and their benefits
  • Coordinates customer participation with program implementers
  • Coordinates contractor outreach and recruitment, including developing and implementing program sales strategies, relationship building activities, and technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to those participating in utility-sponsored programs    
  • Nurtures new and existing relationships with collaborative partners (3rd party Implementors)
  • Contributes to the development of NMGC program outreach and marketing planning
  • Assists in developing event planning, coordination, and presentations of programs
  • Maintains strong ongoing communications with customers to assure customer satisfaction

Successful Candidate Must Have:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • 2 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position
  • Preferences:
    • Previous sales experience that includes prospecting commercial businesses
    • Experience working in the utility industry
    • Experience managing or coordinating vendor relationships
    • Experience with recruiting, sourcing, or coordinating contractors 

Working Conditions 

Normal office environment. In-state travel required 75-80% of the time and may include day trips and overnight stays. May be required to work weekends as well as early mornings and/or after business hours to attend trade shows, community events or other business functions.
Will be assigned a region of NMGC’s service territory, which will require frequent visits to meet with customers. Ability to stand or walk up to 1/3 of the time and regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time.  Manual dexterity and good vision is required to perform all aspects of the job.  May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
