Job Description
The Area Finance Manager will report directly to the Region Finance Director and be a key member of the regional finance team. This role will serve as the trusted financial business partner to the Area Leader. The role is expected to partner directly with the local leadership teams to improve the financial performance and advance the company's strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for all area month-end reporting, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, financial modeling, KPI reporting, strategic initiative tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities Include:
Financial Leadership and Strategy
  • Ongoing management of the area P&L and balance sheet, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the Area Leader and the branch managers to develop and execute strategies that drive sales growth and profit margin expansion
  • Deliver actionable insights to the branch managers that allows them to make informed decisions

Reporting & Analysis
  • Lead the month-end close process for the area, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to Corporate FP&A
  • Analyze suite of KPI's and dashboards (e.g., price/volume, warehouse productivity, customer profitability, etc.) to drive more profitable day-to-day operations
  • Analyze financial and operational trends to identify margin improvement and cost optimization opportunities

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning
  • Lead the area annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, supported by reasonable assumptions and inclusive of a balanced set of risks and opportunities
  • Partner with the local leadership team to model financial scenarios and evaluate the expected return on strategic initiatives, capital expenditures, etc.

Automation and Continuous Improvement
  • Leverage advanced analytics, automation, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to streamline reporting and improve local decision-making
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to automate or streamline day-to-day FP&A processes; share best practices across the broader finance organization

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or other advanced certification is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant FP&A experience; ideally in a high-growth, multi-location business in a public or private equity-backed environment
  • Direct experience in a field FP&A role is preferred
  • Strong executive presence, business acumen, strategic thinking, and presentation skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to deliver complex financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Advanced technical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI, and the ability to navigate large, complex datasets
  • Hands-on, results-oriented, and comfortable navigating complexity, driving change, and meeting deadlines with urgency and sound judgment
  • Proven ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and experience operating in a large organization

Compensation & Benefits:
The pay range for this role is $135,000- $145,000 per year. This range represents what the company reasonably expects to pay an associate for this role based on current market data, internal equity, and other business factors. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
