RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC) is seeking a dynamic Program Finance Manager to join our Program Finance team. In this role, you’ll collaborate daily with engineers, program leaders, and business development partners to ensure strong financial performance across a various research portfolio.  You will also support Technology & Global Engineering (T&GE) and RTRC senior leadership.

This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating across functions, driving process improvements, and supporting mission‑focused R&D programs.

The position is currently designed to be hybrid with a minimum of three days in the office and aligns with the finance team at RTRC.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with engineering and program teams to manage the financial execution of R&D projects across internal, business‑unit, and U.S. Government‑funded efforts

  • Provide day-to-day management of all financial aspects of program finance across multiple contracts, including EVMS, FP&A, R&O management, and training

  • Analyze spending trends, project plans, and performance drivers to that support informed decision making across the organization

  • Present financial insights and program performance to RTRC Senior Leadership during Monthly Team Meetings; support the monthly operating reviews (MOR).

  • Review and validate Government contract invoices prior to submission

  • Prepare required financial reports for U.S. Government customers

  • Support data collection for the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) annual submission

  • Support the Long-Range Plan (LRP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and monthly planning and budgeting cycles

  • Use the RTX operating system, CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) to collaborate with teammates to identify and implement process and reporting enhancements, including Power BI dashboards and automated financial workflows—to improve forecast accuracy and reduce manual effort across the team

  • Participate in internal and external audits and support the development of the corrective action plan

  • Support key ad hoc analyses and special initiatives that advance RTRC strategic and operational goals

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Office 365, and SAP.

  • Familiarity with relevant Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) cost principles

  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to deliver high quality results under time constraints

  • Advanced Excel skills (dynamic arrays, auditing formulas, complex data analysis)

  • Experience bringing financial acumen together with technical skills (Power BI, automation, data visualization) to drive data informed decision-making, improve team efficiency and strengthen financial reporting

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
