This full-time opportunity is designed for a high-performing federal sales professional with a proven history of winning business within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate understands complex federal acquisition environments, develops opportunities from the earliest stages, and consistently closes strategic enterprise software or cybersecurity contracts.This role is responsible for building and managing a federal sales pipeline without SDR support, cultivating executive relationships across military organizations, acquisition commands, system integrators, and defense innovation partners. Success in this position requires strategic thinking, disciplined execution, and the ability to translate advanced technology solutions into measurable mission outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Build and execute a federal business development strategy focused on Department of Defense and Intelligence Community organizations.
  • Identify, qualify, and mature opportunities from early engagement through contract award.
  • Develop trusted relationships with acquisition officials, program executive offices (PEOs), program managers, defense innovation organizations, prime contractors, and strategic partners.
  • Lead capture planning activities including opportunity positioning, teaming strategies, competitive analysis, and proposal collaboration.
  • Navigate federal procurement vehicles, budgeting cycles, and acquisition pathways to maximize contract success.
  • Present complex AI, cybersecurity, cloud, and enterprise software capabilities to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at defense, cybersecurity, and government technology conferences and networking events.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to refine federal market strategy, competitive positioning, and partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting, opportunity tracking, and pipeline reporting.
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining exceptional customer relationships throughout the federal sales lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of successful federal enterprise sales experience selling AI, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Direct experience selling into the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, or Intelligence Community.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes including FAR, DFARS, OTA, SBIR/STTR, and Department of Defense budgeting.
  • Demonstrated success developing federal pipelines independently and closing complex multi-million-dollar opportunities.
  • Established professional network within the Department of Defense ecosystem, acquisition organizations, system integrators, and prime contractors.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical solutions to both executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25–30%.
  • Must currently reside within the Washington, D.C. / Northern Virginia metropolitan area.
