General Description:
The mission of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is to provide trained volunteers to advocate in court for the safety and well-being of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The Program Director oversees the overall implementation of the CASA program's direct services and supervises a dedicated team, including the Program Manager who oversees the Peer Coordinators, Lead Advocate Supervisor/Advocate Supervisors, Volunteer Onboarding Supervisor, the Youth Alliance Program Manager and Youth Alliance Coach Supervisor. This role ensures we provide the highest quality support to volunteers, youth, children, families and community partners. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
Reports To: Executive Director
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and oversight of the CASA program, including hiring, supervision, coaching, mentoring, performance management, staff recognition, and fostering a collaborative, positive team environment.
Leads development of new programmatic initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve program quality, efficiency and resource management.
Ensures the program complies with National standards, Colorado CASA requirements, and organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
Provides regular supervision to Program Managers, Advocate Supervisors, and other direct reports through ongoing coaching, work reviews, monthly staff meetings, and professional development.
Delegates responsibilities and projects to staff, ensuring work is aligned with individual strengths, expertise, and organizational priorities.
Oversees staff caseloads and ensures appropriate supervision and support of all volunteers.
Meets regularly with the Program Manager and Advocate Supervisors to review the work of Peer Coordinators and volunteers, ensuring volunteers receive appropriate guidance, recognition, and support.
Oversees volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, retention initiatives, and data collection, including supporting the Volunteer Onboarding Supervisor in evaluating prospective volunteers and ensuring volunteer training meets national and local standards.
Monitors the waiting list of children and ensures timely matching of children with advocates.
Provides oversight of the Youth Alliance program and housing initiative, including hiring, supervising, mentoring, and supporting staff; developing and updating Youth Alliance policies and procedures; reviewing services for emancipated youth; and approving referrals to Foothills Regional Housing for eligible participants.
Works collaboratively to resolve conflicts related to case management and volunteer coordination.
Informs the Executive Director of program developments, challenges, and opportunities.
Develops and manages project plans, coordinates key initiatives, and ensures timely completion within budget.
Serves as CASA's liaison with strategic partners, including the Court, attorneys, Department of Human Services, Jefferson County School District, Foothills Regional Housing, and other service providers.
Represents CASA on relevant committees and collaborates with community partners to advance the program's mission.
Develops and updates job descriptions for positions managed by the Program Director.
In accordance with the CASA team philosophy, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven organizational and personnel management in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Proven experience in the administration of volunteer programs, non-profits, public service agencies.
Proven experience working with volunteers and an understanding of child abuse and neglect, families in crisis, and social services.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to demonstrate tact and respect in all interactions, particularly under pressure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheet software and word processing.
Must have the ability and willingness to perform work-related travel.
Must be available for flexible day, evening and weekend work hours.
Must have a valid driver's license and current/adequate automobile insurance.
Must have a working telephone number where employee can be reached.
Must submit to and pass a criminal background check.
