Hourly wage: $32.94Approval Date: July 27th, 2026, Posting ad length: July 27th, 2026 - August 24th, 2026Position Scope: The Program Director is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the home in accordance with KMRS's mission, goals, guiding principles, policies and procedures. The Program Director provides leadership, direction while enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure an effective staff team and optimal service-delivery. The primary role of Program Director is to serve the evolving needs of the Executive Director.The Program Director is, above all, responsible for ensuring that people with developmental disabilities are supported with respect, dignity and sensitivity.The Program Director is required to be able to independently manage their own time to a large extent while receiving administrative and program direction from the Executive Director.The Program Director may be asked to assume some of the Executive Director's duties that continues the function of the home during their absence (scheduled or emergency) for periods of time exceeding five business days. This is limited to agenda items that continue to preserve the state of Kings Meadow and does not include altering decision-making models, rule changing or engage in disciplinary actions without the approval or knowledge of the ED or the Board.Benefits: Program Director will have the opportunity to join our group benefits. Vacation time comes out in two allotments, a year. Sick time is granted at a monthly rate with the ability to bank them if not used. PD has statutory holidays off, and flexible scheduling with support of the Executive Director.Reporting Relationship(s): The Program Director reports to the Executive Director.Specific Responsibilities:Personnel/Staff Management:Scope of responsibility: To be responsible for all aspects of staff management within the organization at the standards set out in KMRS policies and procedures and government legislation.Follow's the Executive Director's directions while providing supports for staff in accomplishing organizational goals.Supports the recruitment, hiring, training and development of all staff.Provides ongoing coaching to support the development of staff.Determines and implements appropriate discipline once approved by ED.In the absence of ED develops and posts staffing schedules in a manner that ensures the home is staffed according to client needs and program budget allowances, as well as in the event of last-minute call ins.Enforces leave of absence policies.During regular and on-call shifts, receives short notice requests for time-off (sick leave, bereavement, etc.)Contributes to a positive, empowering work environment by demonstrating a positive approach in delivering KMRS directives and as a positive role model for staff.Prepares accurate reports for the Executive Director as directed.Responsible for other duties as assigned by ED.Financial:Scope of responsibility: To be responsible for all assigned aspects of financial management within KMRS Programs at the standards set out in KMRS policies and procedures and government legislation.Assists in the development and management of program budgets/ Verifies that expenditures do not exceed budgeted amounts and are consistent with KMRS policies and procedures.Confirms that accurate financial records are maintained and available for Petty Cash, Comfort Allowances and residents' personal money.Enforces that resident's personal money is managed according to policy including used for approved purposes and record-keeping.Prepares accurate reports for the Executive Director as directed.Responsible for other duties as assigned.Program:Scope of responsibility: To be responsible for all functions of management pertaining to the daily operations of the home at the standards set by KMRS policies and procedures and government legislation.Coordinates the development of a plan for emergency/crisis situations in an efficient and effective manner.Coordinates the development and implementation of individualized care plans that support staff to respond effectively to specific resident needs.Supports running day programs and recreational activities.Confirms that residents' skills and aspirations are acknowledged, that their individuality is respected and that their needs are responded to in an effective, appropriate manner.Ensures the consistent delivery of all aspects of personal care, health, hygiene, nutrition and behavioral/emotional supports for the residents within the home.Enforces the Medication Policy to ensure the accurate delivery, documentation and inventory of resident's medications along with household over-the-counter medications.Co-ordinates resident and staff involvement in the development, implementation and review of residents' My Plans.Ensures that all staff are aware of local community resources and that those resources are utilized on the residents' behalf.Consistently enforces KMRS's Program Policies and Procedures.Ensures the function of artists craft events even on the possible weekends.In charge of resident's employment opportunities, at vocational or volunteer.Prepares accurate reports for the Executive Director as directed.Safety/Maintenance:Scope of responsibility: To ensure that the home is maintained at the standards set by KMRS policies and procedures and government legislation.Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the home.Assesses the need for emergency repairs and authorizes within budget work.Organizes and oversees Emergency Measures Procedure drills for staff and residents while ensuring accurate documentation.Reviews and revises Emergency Measures Procedures as changes are requiredPromotes a safe working atmosphere for all staff while maintaining a welcoming, warm home for the residents.Participate in the KMRS Occupational Health and Safety Committee as per policy.Prepares accurate reports for the Executive Director as directed.Responsible for other duties as assigned.General:Establishes and maintains communication among people with disabilities, their relatives, advocates, other service-providers/agencies, neighbors and community-at-large.Participates proactively in the ongoing development of services for people with developmental disabilities through effective, meaningful advocacy both in and outside the agency;Administers all KMRS's policies and procedures, and recommends appropriate changes.Rotates on-call duties with the Executive Director.Responsible for other duties as assigned.Hiring Criteria:Preferred to have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education or other human service area of study and two years' experience in the field of developmental disabilities or a combination of education, training and related work experience equal to six years in the field.Must have experience and training in human resource management.Must have experience in program development and financial management.Must have an aptitude for/interest in working in the field of developmental disabilities.Must be self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision/direction.Must have the ability to work effectively as part of the management team.Must have good organization/time management skills.Must have effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to make independent decisions and use good judgement in times of crisis.Must be able to manage stress effectively.Must be willing and able to take on a wide variety of responsibilities and duties.Must be able to demonstrate leadership and promote a team attitude in othersMust be skilled in group dynamics and group facilitation.Must possess strong interpersonal skills, including effective written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to relate well with the general public, community agencies and government bodies.Must be able to portray a positive, professional image of themself, the agency and the clients its serves to other service-providers, funders, branches of government and the community-at-large.Must be patient and empathetic to both residents and staff.Must respect the intrinsic worth of all people with disabilities and be able to always act in a manner that ensures that the dignity, individuality and rights of people with disabilities are safeguarded, including a commitment to KMRS's Mission, Goals, Guiding Principles and Code of Ethics.Must carry out assigned
