Job Title: Unit Secretary

Location: Central Jersey Behavioral

Department Name: Adult Psych (AP)

Pay Range: $17.27 - $19.28 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Unit Secretary, under the direct supervision of the Program Director, and/or designee, performs receptionist, clerical and secretarial activities, as well as medical record duties. The Unit Secretary functions as the central communication source at the nursing station. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. The Unit Clerk will demonstrate the RWJBarnabas philosophy to Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.

Schedule:

  • Part-Time, 16 hours per week
  • Friday, Monday and every other weekend
  • Shifts 7am-3pm

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Secretarial School or equivalent, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology and medication preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word preferred.
  • Experience in medical transcription preferred.
