Location: Springfield, OH

Position Summary

The Training & Development Manager will lead the company's learning and development initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving employee training programs that support onboarding, technical skill development, leadership growth, compliance, and employee engagement.

Working closely with Human Resources, Operations, and department leaders, this individual will identify training needs, develop effective learning solutions, and help build a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify organizational skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain company-wide training and employee development programs.
  • Develop annual training strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee training, including:
    • New Hire Orientation
    • Onboarding
    • Leadership Development
    • Technical Skills Training
    • Safety & Compliance Training
    • Cross-Training Programs
  • Develop engaging training materials using a variety of instructional methods and learning technologies.
  • Coach and support managers and supervisors on employee development, coaching techniques, and performance improvement.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify workforce development needs and implement effective learning solutions.
  • Coordinate training events, workshops, and outside training resources.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, and performance metrics while driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Manage departmental training budgets.
  • Assist with customer visits, facility tours, and presentations as needed.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee training programs.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Desired Skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS) or HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to analyze training effectiveness and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Manufacturing knowledge, including metal stamping, welding, machining, or assembly operations, is a plus.
  • Ability to support multiple shifts and occasionally work flexible hours to meet training needs.
