BAE Systems' Countermeasure and Electromagnetic AttackSolutions (CEMA) Business Area is seeking an experienced, strategic BusinessDevelopment Manager (BDM) to shape and win new business in our existing andemerging markets. This position will drive growth through the creation,identification, and qualification of new business opportunities. A keycomponent to success is comprehensive internal and external customerinteraction and creating alignment with the company's value proposition and thecustomers' needs. The successful candidate will utilize the full breadthof company resources to solve our customers' challenges and demonstrate theability to influence BAE Systems and customer stakeholders.
This Business Development role reports directly to the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) Product Line Business Development Director; however, they will support not only the ISS product line but also interface with the broader business and remain cognizant of opportunities across the sector. This role will focus on the development of new domestic business growth in multiple markets and customers. It will require frequent customer contacts and a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, competitive landscape, and CEMA products, capabilities, and technologies. In collaboration with peer BDMs, technical staff, and program leadership, the selected candidate will help shape and drive our growth strategies and develop& execute a plan to fill our pipeline with qualified opportunities that support the product lines' objectives.
This position will require individuals to support working onsite in Merrimack, NH.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Build, mature and execute comprehensive account plans that deliver desired customer awareness and awards;
  • Identify and qualify a robust pipeline of focused opportunities that align with CEMA ISS business objectives;
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify customer objectives, priorities, and requirements that strategically position BAE Systems as an innovative industry leader;
  • Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses with significant presence in the assigned markets;
  • Team with product line leadership to provide counsel and recommendations for the bid/no bid gate reviews and collaborate with the Product Line Portfolio & Capture Team Leads for smooth turnover to proposal development;
  • Conduct competitive analysis and develop Price to Wins (PTWs);
  • Develop effective win strategies which include identifying and qualifying new opportunities.
  • Travel up to 50%, as required.

Required Skills and Education
  • Strong BD experience required in a relevant USG market - Military and/or DoD/OSD experience
  • Understanding of industry best practices around business winning and leveraging business winning tools to ensure lean, effective business winning;
  • Ability to establish and foster mutually beneficial relationships with and collaborate/partner with other BAE Systems businesses, Industry partners and our customers;
  • Ability to establish and communicate strategic filters for business pursuits based upon strong business acumen;
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiences;
  • Knowledge of and experience with obtaining customer and competitive intelligence and developing PTW analyses;
  • High level of independence, critical thinking, and strategic thinking
  • Experience developing long-term capture strategies to break into new markets leveraging existing and developing capabilities within the product line.
  • Understanding of electro-optic systems, both passive and active.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field

Preferred Skills and Education
  • Successful experience working with OUSW(D), Navy surface domain, space & tactical air domain, and/or ground vehicle domain
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant technical field
  • Familiarily with platform protection systems (EO/IR/RF)
  • Hands-on work experience with defense systems or EO/IR systems
